The Birthday Tree Poem
What is a birthday? Is it the day I was born? Does it mean the process of being? Is it the reason of my existence?

I watch in despair the day celebrations Animals are slaughtered Birds, are not spared either Trees are destroyed in the name of celebration. Birds' homes are destroyed They construct their nests under the house roofs The earth is denied clean air A bare, lifeless rock remains in the name of earth. Animals die due to lack of vegetation Devil-wind blow across the land in celebration Rivers dry up Sentencing aquatic lives to death Is it the celebration of life or death?

Today, I choose to celebrate my existence The concept of doctrine of Green mind To create a home for birds To find a solace in Trees To give nature its own That I stole To give than to receive
I choose a BIRTHDAY TREE. I choose a BIRTHDAY TREE.
